Probably not the news you are all waiting for, but at least something for you to see 
This video is showing the upcoming free version of my first iPhone App. It will be available in the AppStore as soon as a new name is found (Locations is sadly already taken by another app) and I am happy with the quality of the app. The app will be available in English, German and French. Webcam images are provided by the great http://webcams.travel/ web service!

Once this version is release, I will begin developing a “Live Edition”, which will also enable you to see live images, video stream (M-JPEG) if available, add your own webcam URLs and hopefully many more features

wie bereits gesagt, dein englisch finde ich putzig, glaub mir es liegt nicht an der Tonqualität, es ist dein Akzent
Die App die du da entwickelt hast ist wirklich gut, soweit ich das Video verfolgen konnte. Und ich freue mich darauf und darauf weitere Features später testen zu können.
Das wird nochmal ein ganz großes Ding hab ich das Gefühl, dann darfst du aber auch später Geld für verlangen, würde ich jedenfalls tun. Wenn sich deine App etabliert hat und alle ganz scharf drauf sind dürfte es sowieso kein Problem sein eine Art “Premium” Edition rauszubringen, welche dann eben noch mehr kann als die normale Version. Oder du limitierst etwas bei einem Update, aber das wäre ja fies

so this means that location is not live anymore?
Is this caused b using the webcams.travel API?

@mastercow: The “old” Locations version is still running on Firmware < 2.0, but developing moved over to the official SDK. The video shows the first and free version of the upcoming app which utilizes webcams.travel services. This offers lots of more webcams via search etc. features and e.g. providing thumbnails and coordinates of all these webcams. There will also be a “Live Edition” of this new app, but I won’t tell all the features right now
So once again, the old version is still working, but only on firmware < 2.0.

Ich habe soeben mit meinem “alten iPhone ” (firmware 1.1.4.} , dank Ihrer wunderbarer Applikation, die Windsurfer auf der Insel Maui beobachtet.
Nach wie vor ist the “old Locations” mein allergrösster Favorit unter den iPhone Applikationen.
Ich wünsche und hoffe mir so sehr, dass Sie eine neue Version für den neuen iPhone 3G erstellen.
Ich hoffe, es schreiben Ihnen noch viele Fans, damit Sie sehen, wie gross das Interesse an ” the old Locations” ist.

Diese Webseite ist sozusagen vom Autor des “old Locations” 
Danke für das Interesse an meinem kleinen Programm, die neue Version is sozusagen fertig und wird wohl nächstes Wochenende an Apple geschickt. Jetzt kommt noch das drum herum, wie Icons fertig machen, Webseite machen etc. Das Warten hat bald ein Ende!

Freue mich, wenn das app kommt – war mein Liebling beim iPhone 1.1 und nun warte ich sehr auf das Erscheinen für das 3G. Herzlichen Dank Heidi
Hoffentlich braucht App store nicht zu lange, um ihre neue 3G Version aufzunehmen
es gibt nun bereits eine etwas ähnliche Applikation , die man im App-Store laden kann, mit Webcam, ist aber bei weitem nicht so gut und vielfälltig wie das “Locations”

Wann dürfen wir mit der Liveview Version rechnen? Gerade für Verkehrs-Webcams ist dies sehr interessant und wichtig.

@Dave: Das kann noch einige Wochen dauern, ich mache das ja in meiner Freizeit und ich will es richtig machen, und nichts halb fertiges rausgeben. Ich denke dieses Jahr, aber mehr kann ich wirklich nicht voraussagen. Sorry.
